Yep. When I went catfishing with my grandpa the other night and we caught a 14 pound snapping turtle on cutbait. It was unexpected, but still exciting.

And Soup, what's wrong with you. he said T-U-R-T-L-E, not C-R-A-B lol.

Yeah, yesterday actaully

if they are big enough they will bite the bait off and get caught like a fish. Its really annoying though because if the hook gets in deep, the turtle's head will go into its shell when you try to take it out.. Its harder than taking it out of a fish.. and I feel bad haha unlike fish which I don't care about.

Yes. I actually had a small turtle bite the rod tip and I lifted it up for about 2 seconds out of the water before it let go. Most people just catch them by hook and line which is common all over the world where turtles are found. ~good luck catchin'. ...just not turtles. ; )

I've caught a few turtles accidentally when bait fishing for catfish.

I wasn't trying catch them but when I lived down south I used to catch alligator snappers all the time. What a pain. The turtles would swallow the bait and I would have to cut the line. They have a mean bite so be careful.
