When old bad things drop off....?

This is more of a statement of information than a question....

I made an interesting observation today. I've had a 90 day late on a Sallie Mae account showing since September of 04 on my Trans Union.

I have read that old, bad info doesn't hurt your FICO's as much as they get older & being near nothing at 7 years.

Today that dropped off early. I had just purchased my TU FICO score last Friday. It was 706. Today, it went up to 751 !!!!

Just wanted to mention this to prove a point. No matter how old the "nasty" mark is, you get a very nice score jump when it's gone! I also want to add that this was the only remaining negative mark on that report.

WOO HOO! Now I only have 1 report out of all 3, with only one bad mark left to fall off.

This has been a long, hard credit repair journey, but now I'm finally running down the home stretch!

Thanks Hunts & anywho... I do always enjoy helping out folks & educating them whenever possible. I can certainly admit when I "don't know" how to help, but I like to try & find the answer for some folks too. I guess the one big area I like to clear up for folks is all the FAKO scores available out there. I hate to see anyone apply for a car loan or mortgage because "free credit report" says they're fine!

For the last 5 years, it's been a mission of mine to educate. I welcome any advice from others and also any comments, whether they be good or bad. I'm a big girl with a thick skin! I can take it! :0)

I won't be leaving any time soon. I truly enjoy reading & posting here. Even if I get the email chastising one of my comments now & then. hehe

Oh....anywho...I do love the credit pull database on the Creditboards! That has been a Godsend when I wanted a particular product. I do miss the FICO discount codes tho. Seems they put the kibosh on that joint venture. :0(

AnyWho....I have the PSECU EX FICO with $5 in the checking acct!!! Not too many people know about those & they're catching on that folks are joining to simply get the score. They are making their criteria to join a bit tougher.

Right now...EX is 710 :0( That is my report with the last baddie.

Excellent score jump proving that lates do hurt no matter how old they are. The Fico forums seems to have been very helpful to you (creditboards is my home)

You don't have the Walmart card to get your free TU Fico?

Keep up the good work on your reports and on here.

edit
Yes it does stink that the Fico discount codes no longer work. But you can always try The Menage (aka The Trifecta) for your "true" Fico's through PSECU for your EX, through DCU for your EQ and now through WM/WM Discover for your TU.

Always hang around and help people with your experience.
You are now have top credit scores.
Somewhere I read that fico scores above 740 to 760 are considered the best, since any higher will not bring you any advantage
