What films were harrassed heavily by the MPAA?

I'm looking for films that were heavily edited or unfairly given an X-Rating. I know the horror genre had a lot of films that had an issue, but I'm looking more for horror.

I need a list or an example. Films I'm talking about that had issues with MPAA were

Midnight Cowboys
Friday the 13th Part II and Part VII
Scarface
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
My Bloody Valentine (1981)
Angel Heart

Most of the films that have had MPAA issues were due to violence, like most of the ones you listed (frankly, I was going to say the Friday the 13th films... I believe more actually had issues besides those two, but I don't know which)

I Spit on Your Grave ('78) had issues, but I think that was somewhat fair in that case... The uncut version is available now in most of the DVD versions, but in its original run, the director cut out like 10 minutes, because the MPAA wouldn't tell him exactly what they thought was wrong with the film.

Lots of slashers had to be re-cut because of MPAA restrictions, like The Burning. Also, lots of films that Tom Savini worked on, like Dawn of the Dead and Maniac have either had issues or never bothered to be rated. I think both of those films were just left unrated.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer had issues as well; it was delayed for four years because of the MPAA.

Also, A Clockwork Orange was rated X. Kubrick did make an R-rated release with some cuts.

Well, the last film to be rated X by the MPAA was Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. They changed the X rating to NC-17. I know that several films ended up unrated in the US, like Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, & The Last House on the Left, & many films cut footage from the film to give it an R rating, like The Hills Have Eyes, & RoboCop, Medium Cool, I Drink Your Blood, 1900.
