Why do you thumbs down someone answer?

When reading other answers, what makes you decide to give someone a thumbs down? I've read other answers which are very well written and correct, or even short and to the point and correct or it's an opinion which have been thumbed down.

I personally only will give thumbs down to people who are rude to the poster and/or others. Also if it's obvious someone is being a troll.

Thanks in advance for your input! :)

I only give a thumbs down to people with actual wrong answers (or idiots). People give a lot of misleading info on here. I try not to give a thumbs down to people I disagree with because it's just an opinion and it can't technically be wrong.

I only give thumbs down when the person didn't answer the question or was rude/insulted the person who was asking the question.

Answers that are rude, factually incorrect, or reportable under community guidelines all are TD-worthy.

Also people that ask to be awarded BA; I believe a best answer should stand on its own merits and not have to be campaigned for.

They probably disagree with that person's opinion. NOW EVERYONE THUMBS DOWN THIS ANSWER!
