Is not as strong or definite in saying that something is 'fact' but then is not as weak or uncertain as saying something is an 'idea' or 'belief' etc.
Trying to find something in between but can't think of anything
I may not have worded my question right but any help would be appreciated.

Theory - noun: a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world; an organized system of accepted knowledge that applies in a variety of circumstances to explain a specific set of phenomena
a Hypothesis is a weaker form - more a possibility, than a probability.
A scientific hypothesis that survives experimental testing becomes a scientific theory
