Does anyone know what another word for "not needed"

I'd like it in one word.

Also, Do you know a site that could help me if I ever needed help like this again?

    Okay , found it .. from the Oxford English dictionary (edition published 1893) an old English word 'destore' meaning to throw out, remove from occupancy or not supply .. I cannot find it in any of my later dictionaries although there is a mention of it in several scientific articles .. here's one that shows someone is still using the word

    Sorry, no websites but there is a new invention called a "book". Two of them are the thesaurus and the rhyming dictionary.

    I have read that for English swear words, the reason is the French. When France invaded England, William the Conqueror outlawed English. That is most words used except for low life English who were servants and cooks. So many Old English words are considered foul words. For instance, snot means mucous. Mucous is the polite "French" way to say snot. Hence, the expression when one curses is : "Pardon my French."
