Introducing a new kitten - help?

I have a 2 year old spayed Norwegian forest male. He's very cuddly and playful and since I work a lot, I thought of bringing him a friend. I chose a mellow playful 4 month old Maine Coon mix. Brought her in yesterday and put her in a separate room. 

He spend some time staring at the door, then went around his business. I showed him the kitty and he hissed and ran away. Now he doesn't want to cuddle and hisses at me cause I smell like the new kitty. The little girl cries for attention in her room and I feel sorry for her, but I know I should be spending time with my boy so he doesn't feel abandoned. But the hissing freaks me out and he doesn't purr when I hold him and wants to get away from me. 

What do you think I should do next? I want them to get along well and be each others company...

How do you have a "Maine Coon mix" with only 3% of cats a breed and breeders of pedigreed cats tending to sell kittens altered?  Your kitten is a DOMESTIC - nothing more.  And your "Norwegian Forest" cat is only one if you have papers for it.

You need to put an old tshirt with the kitten to get its scent on it then share this with the cat.  Then get the existing cat's scent on it and give it back to the kitten.  Due this several and don't introduce them until both seem at ease and only after the kitten has been disease-tested.  If whoever you got it from lied about it being a "Maine Coon mix" they also probably lied about having it checked out by a vet.  Unless this was a shelter where you would have been given records to prove it tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Feed them both at the same time and play with them with  a toy or put them together for a while but stay wif them:+)
