How many lives do humans get ?

When I wrote my last question (which I do not remember), I was just coming out of brain surgery for evacuation of a subdural right parietal hematoma. It was a close call. I almost joined my Dalmatian - the real Spreedog - who died of cancer two years ago. A simple slip and fall stepping out of the shower. This is the second time I was close to death. I know many cancer survivors who have faced possible death and come through it. I do not put myself in their class.

You've certainly been on my mind and in my thoughts since it happened. It looks like you may be on your third life and you know, third time's a charm. That was a helluva fall, my friend! Dogs are patient. Spreedog will be waiting, hopefully for many more years for you to join him. Take care of yourself and don't miss any checkups! And be careful dammit!

I guess you checked your first question since your accident...

Oh, we are glad to have you back. But to answer your question...there is a Psychiatrist by name Brian Weiss, who reluctantly admitted (being a Jew himself), that in many of his hypnoregression therapies many patients have given accounts of their previous lives....The typical case he wrote is of a female, a lady, who had had 86 (I hope I get the figure right), but the number of rebirths vary.
Other works are there which speak of the soul surviving bodily death (OBE), and many many more besides....
The idea of rebirth is entrenched in our Eastern philosophies though not in Western thought, Judaeo-Christian and Islamic religions....the world looks more and more a drama. So what is life?
