Is it rare for a cat to have Heterochromia iridum?

Im not sure if that's what it's called when they have different coloured eyes, but anyway my cat had kittens and 2 of them have different coloured eyes and I'm just wondering if it's rare?

It is unusual but it's not exactly rare. This condition most commonly occurs in white cats but it can also occur in any other cat if that cat has the white spotting gene (this is what causes many cats to have white areas on their bodies). Typically, the cat has one blue eye and one gold or green eye. In a few white cats with different colored eyes, they are deaf in the ear on the same side as the blue eye but most of them can hear perfectly well in both ears. If you ever get such a cat, enjoy it. It makes your cat unique and different.

It is unusual, but not rare. We get quite a few bi eyed cats at are shelter.
If you have kittens the eye color can change over the first year.

Common with white cats, with one eye being blue.

But depending on how old your kittens are, they many not be finished with their change to adult eye color.
