I love spring and I love cycling.
I just wrote a poem on a similar topic today without seeing this first. It's amazing how that can work from time to time.
I enjoyed your vision of springtime. A sweet poem that lets me smell the flowers in your words. When I ride at present my season is autumn (fall), but in Australia most trees don't lose their foliage in the winter, so there aren't many leaves on the ground. It's possibly a little similar to your springtime.
I'm seeing lots of ducks as I ride at the moment. They look very happy and self satisfied. I haven't come across any sprites or nymphs yet but there is always tomorrow.
Thank you for this little vignette. It was a joy to read.
Spirits dance in the midst of the forest; pansies & pink poises aglow. Rowdy nymphs play songs to a cyclist, inviting them to know. But the new flowers bloom, with the memories of gone. And the Sweet Broom blossoms, and the Maple has none.
Maybe a California thing. One of my clients has a dying Japanese Maple tree that is dying - just killing me.
Each season has its own beauty; Fall has its dazzling array of colors, Winter has its time when nature sleeps; But spring is a time when earth awakens Leading us into days of summer fun.
I will watch out for the sprites and nymphs as I drive down the highways. The many wildflowers of a Texas spring give them a place to hide alongside the road.
Spring is a great time and you describe it well. When I was a child I used to say "The Spring is sprung and the grass is riz so I wonder where the flowers is". While I like to pass the tiny bit of doggeral on to my grandchildren, your poem describes the blooming of spring much better. Keep up the good work. You get a thumbs up!
