Over the past few years (and especially in the past six months) the jet stream seems to have been behaving anomalously. Does anyone have specific data on the evolution of the jet stream, and could its recent behavior be at all attributable to global warming?
Thanks!!!

I was going to skip answering but with Bob lying in his answer, I felt compelled to. You can find articles about the effect of global warming on the jet stream here:
There is not any worldwide warming. If you reside in Florida you then will have to remember that the so known as gurus stated the 2004 Hurricane season used to be signal of worldwide warming. If it used to be, then why had storm exercise diminished each and every 12 months in view that then? The imply worldwide temperatures had been falling in view that they peaked out within the past due ninety's. The Global Warming worry mongers are actually calling their crusade "Climate Change", that manner they're protected it doesn't matter what occurs. About the cool climate. Here is a mathematical method with the intention to provide an explanation for any wonderful remark: 50% of the time temperatures might be cooler than ordinary. 50% of time the temps might be above ordinary.
You have asked an excellent question, and I find myself responding not out of a special knowledge but rather because of a rather ignorant answer you have received.
We do know that weather has been predicted because the jet stream causes certain effects and in the northern hemisphere semi-permanent areas of low and high pressures like the Icelandic Low and the Azores High cause a climate we have come to depend on.However the science does suggest that things are changing and we need to ask questions like yours now.
I will be watching your question in hope that others more knowledgeable then I will be shedding light on your question.(thanks to Pegminer so far)
There have been articles related to the jet stream and global warming since 2007. It is currently believed to be heading toward the pole slowly due to arctic ice melt. The southern stream is suspected to be pole bound as well. Although the US just had a taste of this with summer weather it is also expected to bring more winter to parts of the northern hemisphere.
Global warming does not affect the jet stream. But the sun does http://www.theresilientearth.com/?q=content/scientists-discover-sun-does-affect-earths-climate The sun is also the source of global warming/cooling http://discovermagazine.com/2007/jul/the-discover-interview-henrik-svensmark
