should i get a biopsy - tongue cancer?
Hi, I've had some pain in my tongue over the past 3 or 4 days. Not severe enough that I can't talk, but it is difficult for me to speak clearly and swallow because of the pain. I've been taking ibuprofin pretty steadily and it remedies the pain for a while, but it always comes back and doesn't go away if I don't take it. I have been looking up the symptoms for tongue cancer, and I am probably just worrying too much, but with something so serious, I want to be sure. The pain seems to be coming from the base of my tongue, not my throat. When I put my thumb and index fingers under my jaw and push upwards, there is pain. However, there is no lump or lesion that I can see. Should I wait, or go in and get it checked out? Thank you :)
thank you for your input, I am 19 years old. I smoked cigars over the past school year, but not many. I don't know if that should be considered, but I want to put it out there in case it is.
