So I am writing a book and so far I have the first pharagraph but I dont know how to continue it. The last sentence says "And then she heard the small thud of footsteps." So the book starts with a girl named kit who is chained to the prison floor and it is explaining how the prison has no name and it is torture and nobody can escape it. So please help me how to continue it

Well it depends what you want to happen. Whose footsteps are they? If you give some more detail I'll help you.
How about the second paragraph says something about how she heard low mumbles from outside, that slowly got louder and clearer with each thud of a footstep. Then add dialog of the person walking by, have them say something about her, saying her name with disgust clear in the voice. And then maybe have her explain further more her situation, what she remembers before she was chained in the torturous prison. Hope this helps(: Good luck writing.
if its a torture place you can have someone coming to torture her (and if it fantasy) she discovers her true powers in a state of need (or if it isnt and its just ficiton) she coud have been an experiment project and was injected with smething that makes her incredibly strong or powerful and she beats up the person coming towards her and escapes and how the prison is still after her once she escapes so they become the antagonist
either way...i prefer the fiction idea and personally id chose that one and have an prologue explain how she got there and the injection but thats just my opinion
