Quit Smoking Techniques?
I've gone 10 days without smoking, so far so good, but sometimes I keep getting the urge to smoke. What's the best way of dealing with this? I tried nicotine gums a few months ago but I got tired of chewing them.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on being quit for 10 days!! Keep going and stay strong, you CAN do it!!!
Sadly, you will get these urges to smoke for a long time...nicotine leaves the body after three days, but the mental part is still there. You should try to be active so calming chemicals will release in your brain. I would advise against the gum since nicotine is already out of your system. I think the gum just makes things worse since you're trying to quit and it's keeping nicotine in your system.
I quit for 2 months last year, and I chewed A LOT of gum. Lollipops helped. Keep your hands busy. Stay busy in general. Keep your mind off of it. Read up online about all the negative things smoking does for you, and about all the positive things of being a non-smoker.
Whatever you do, do NOT have 'just one!' It's never just one! That was my 'mistake' last year. I had one within one week. And then I 'had' to have another one the next week. Before I knew it, I was back into the nasty habit.
Just keep going, stay strong, and do NOT give into a silly urge; it's not worth it. Remember, when you buy cigarettes, you're just making other people rich while they're killing you!!
Good luck!!
