Is being sleepy after meals normal w diabetes?

I was diagnosed w/type 2 diabetes a year ago and have been on meds & diet changes, so I am doing fine,.. but, I always get really sleepy about 20-30 minutes after I eat. Is that normal? I will check w/my doctor but until I reach him... just curious

Being sleepy after meals is normal for just about everybody.

it has NOTHING to do with your diabetes.

However, by having Type 2 Diabetes, we can asume that you are carrying more weight than you should be. THIS can lead to Sleep Apnea, which causes an ABNORMAL tendency to fall asleep in the day time, ESPECIALLY after meals.

If you are more than 75 pounds overweight, you should ask your doctor to refer you to a Sleep Study Center or some other location that treats Sleep Apnea.
