Has anyone been denied a job because of their body modifications?

I personally have not but my employer has denied jobs to some people due their piercings. Years ago they had hired a girl who was Indian and she had attended a wedding. And with their culture they decorate their hands and arms with Henna. It looked really cool and pretty but my boss told her that has to come off or else she is fired. Poor girl had to bleach her skin to get it off. Its not right how businesses do others. I know my employers are totally judgemental. They litterally denied good people who have talent because of the way they look. I work n the cake decorating business and i've seen people come in and do great work but wouldnt give them a chance because of how they look. Or would give some the boot over another girl who has no experience but can speak spanish? Awful but one day they'll get in trouble for it...Show more

i have no such experience. but recently i heard about a story of part time employee. she working in part time base contract. she always wearing short sleeves. she made a tattoo in her body. the work was going well for two months. but from her last working day her boss said that "You know, the customers all seem to like you, but a lot of them have said something about the tattoos. Could you please wear long sleeves from now on?". so she is on confusion. i dont know the after effect....Show more
