Rehabiltating batteries with Epsom salts?

I keep reading on the web how lead/acid vehicle batteries can be restored with a solution of Epsom salts. But the posters mostly say to replace the acid solution with an Epsom salts solution. I can believe them up to that point and on through the charging with the Epsom salts but don't you then have to drain the salts solution and replace it with acid and water before charging it and putting it back into service? You can't use it with no acid can you?

So many weird answers! Injure my battery beyond repair? How about you say how to repair? Just buy one? I need nine deep cycle batteries at a minimum of $180 each - some cost as much as $266. Just buy them without trying to fix the old batteries which at present will hold only 0 to 3 volts? Good luck with your money. I would like to try and save mine. None of you so far have addressed the question which was should the Epsom salts be drained and replaced with battery acid?

Epsoms Salt is sometimes used to store batteries, in a controlled environment. Or was used, is not really efficient. Salt Water batteries are not anything new, they are weak.
Is saltwater and Peroxide, I forget the actual chemical breakdown, it is on-line somewhere.
Lime Juice, almost any Citric Acid can be used, Molten Battery Technology is the newest thing, is actually quite ancient.

Rehabilitating is a confusing term,

Restore Lead Acid Battery

About three years ago my John Deere lawn tractor battery died. I bought the tractor in 2007 or 2008, can't remember exactly right now. It just wouldn't hold a charge anymore. I had heard about the epsom salt recipe and decided to try it. I don't care what any of these "experts" tell you, three years later my OLD JD battery starts my tractor like a champ. I have since "resurrected" old motorcycle and deep cycle RV (Marine) batteries. I'm no scientist, I just know it works for me.
