It's a 12 gauge pump shotgun but someone told me its a turkey gun and you can't shoot slugs through it.

It is fully camo. It looks pretty new. Does anyone know what years the 67h was made (or is it still made? ). Also does anyone know the value? He wants to trade me on it. I'm not sure about the choke. I've only owned pistols and have never owned a long barrel gun but I just bought 3 acres and have already seen several nice deer. Thanks

What choke does it have? Full? Modified? If it's more restrictive than an improved cylinder, I wouldn't shoot slugs through it.
It's not a "turkey gun," though. It's a shotgun. You can shoot any shotshell from it, generally, though if it is an older gun, steel shot might damage it. And if it does have a full choke, buckshot might not pattern all that well through it.
EDIT: The Springfield 67H was made by Savage. My father has a 67H. He bought his in the early to mid 1970s. J. Stevens (which is owned by Savage these days) makes a Model 67, and one of the J. Stevens listings showed it to be made up until 1989. There were different kinds made, some with fixed chokes and some with interchangeable chokes. Some had vent ribs, some didn't. There was even a specific model made with waterfowl in mind.
There is a listing for a camouflage Stevens 67 in my Gun Trader's Guide, but no specific dates of manufacture. And a look at the Savage website shows that Stevens only makes Models 320 and 350 for pump shotguns.
What's more, that particular shotgun (the camo model with interchangeable choke tubes) is valued at $245 if it were in UNFIRED condition (i.e. "New in Box"). If it has been used even once or twice, its value would drop down to about $167.
I would recommend that you not make this trade unless you are trading for no more than $170 or so of goods. And since you can buy a brand new Mossberg Maverick 88 for $200 or so at a Walmart, and then you'd KNOW you could use slugs, the deal looks even less attractive.
And one more thing- in this case, it's probably a good idea that you asked here before trading. The guy who is trading this probably knows that it's a low-value gun and may be trying to trade it for more than it's worth. What is he asking in trade? A nice Glock handgun, or maybe a S&W revolver?
Rule of thumb in gun trades: unless you KNOW that the trade is good, and I mean know beyond a shadow of a doubt, it is a bad trade. For you. Always expect that the other guy in the trade is trying to cheat you... because a gun can look really beautiful and seem valuable, but actually only be worth a small amount. Example: I just purchased a shotgun. It has a brass trigger, which looks very nice. I paid $300. I could convince someone who didn't know much about guns that the gun I just bought for $300 was worth $550, but I'd let them buy it for $450 because I liked them. It wouldn't be hard to do... but I'm more honest than that.
it should have been made in early 70's value depends but 100-200$ yes you can run fostner slugs through it, even if it has full choke. i think that model came with improved choke. this was mfr by savage.
