I don't know if my tax return would be called "complex" or not?

I am self employed as a manager in a family LLC that manages a rental triplex, and then I get income from a trust, rents (not belonging to the LLC but myself), and investments. Would H &R Block be able to handle this or should I go to a CPA instead? I've been filing my own tax returns for years but am starting to get slow and foggy about it and am not sure who to go to for help. I tried H&R Block once a long time ago but what they did seemed super simple, but back then I did not own or help manage any rentals.

I would consider your tax return relatively complex and I personally wouldn't use any big-box tax shops like Block, Liberty, Jackson Hewitt, etc. Look for an enrolled agent (EA) in your area. EAs are typically less expensive than CPAs. They are well-trained, tested, and certified tax professionals who can represent their clients before the IRS if necessary.

CPA's are not always tax experts. Some don't do the work but have Enrolled Agent's do it then sign it themselves. I recommend going straight to an EA. You can go to Block but make sure you get an EA there.
