Can I apply again if I get rejected from my intended major?

Just like when applying for college and overreacting by applying to a ton of schools, should I apply to multiple majors at once instead of one at a time, and if I get rejected once, can I reapply for the major and would it look bad if I got rejected once already.

I don't know how major stuff works, but looking at either Materials Science or Chemical Engineering, potentially one or the other as a minor. Problem is, they are highly competitive with only about 25 students accepted out of 100 for upper admission and around the same rate for early admission. How do people handle rejection? It's like I can only apply once a year for those departments, and the first admission is coming very fast. There's not really that much else I'm looking at other than these

You should be looking at one major.

What are you trying to do anyway?
