My cat has gone off canned food. Any idea why?

Like a lot of cats she's always been a fussy eater, but now all she'll eat is dry food.
I'll open a tin, she'll have a tiny nibble, then walk off. I know only eating dry food isn't healthy for her so if you can help I would be very appreciative. She's 8 years old if that helps

My one cat went through that. I changed her food. You could try a little chicken or fish. If she starts to look unhealthy or has tummy upsets then take her to the vet. She may be bored of her diet.

Providing that the cat's dental health is good enough that she is able to eat dry food, it's FINE to feed a cat a good quality medium priced dry food (the cheapest foods and the highest priced foods aren't as good overall as the foods in the middle price range such as Diamond, Purina ONE, Iams, etc. Just make sure your cat always has plenty of fresh water available, change the water daily. If you want to, you can also try soaking the dry food in hot water (it soaks better in hot water than in cold) and serve it when it's well soaked and just warm, and see how your cat likes her dry food soaked. Just be aware that like canned food, soaked food will spoil quickly if not eaten.

It's possible the manufacturer changed the formula of the canned food somehow and that it's less palatable to the cat than it was before. If you want, you might try a different brand of canned food, or different flavors or textures of canned food than you've been giving. For example, some of my cats do not like the shredded or chunky canned foods but they will eagerly eat the pate or flaked canned foods.

Don't give him to eat canned, try to do some fish or meat
