My 5 month old kitten has soft stools and there s always some stuck to her anus after every bowel movement. Advice needed.?

It s been like this a few weeks now. Her appetite is normal and I ve only seen her wipe her bum in the carpet once. I haven t changed her food and I only give her one small can of wet food a day, leaving dry food of the same brand and flavor in her dish at all times. Has anyone else experienced this and if so did they need to bring their kitten/cat to the vet for it?

Stop giving her wet food. Just give her the dry food. You can add about 1/2 teaspoon of canned pumpkin to the food. It contains a lot of fiber and will make her stools more solid without constipating her. I give mine 1 teaspoon per day. But I started at 1/2 teaspoon to start.

You need to use 100% natural canned pumpkin without spices. Don't buy the pie filling kind. Just get the 100% pumpkin.

Mine loves the taste of it and will even lick it off the spoon sometimes.

It will get rid of the loose stool. I personally blame the canned cat food for the loose stool. Have you ever checked what is in that stuff? It's horrible.

You could move the balance towards more dry food, but it's pretty normal.
