Every Memorial weekend we go to the river. This year, my daughter will be performing on the USS Iowa and we can't go. Furious husband wa..?
Wants me to cancel her obligation. I feel it's irresponsible. She is the lead singer in her schools jazz ensemble (11th grade) that performs gigs. It's an honor and good opportunity for exposure (she wants to major in music in college). We go to the river nearly every other weekend in the summer months. My husband is angry at me because I don't want her to let the band down and I also think this is an amazing opportunity
Does it change anyone's opinion if I told you my daughter doesn't want to do the performance either? She is a teen and doesn't want to miss the fun of the river, but I feel as a parent I should teach her to honor her commitments.
