What are some acting exercises that will make me a better actress?
Ok, I want to be an actress, but I don't know what exercises will help me become one. I can fake cry and make realistic facial expressions and remember lines easily. I want to become a better actress and I hope that you can help me become one by giving me ideas that really work!!!

Check out different theatre practitioner, such as Stanislavski, Viola Spolin, Steven Berkoff, and take every job you can get, even if it is just watching an actor. I have been studying acting since I was eight (I am eighteen now) and everything I have learnt through education is accessible to learn without it, but I would recommend it. Check out workshops, many aren't that bad price. Also you need to be able to travel, that is the main thing about being an actor, you won't really have time to settle down unless you really make it, but it isn't assuing. Just aim to make enough money in acting to live off or just do it as a hobby.
Instead of focusing on tricks like crying on cue - get into the actual work of acting.
Acting involves reacting/interacting with others so classes/workshops are helpful. You can't practice real acting alone in your room.
And being in productions is helpful - even just auditioning can be a good experience.
join other performance groups - improv troupe, dance troup, band, choir can be helpful. As can voice/dance lessons.
Your body is your tool so eating right, exercising, stretching are good things to do (and not just for acting).
Embrace learning - read about the craft of acting (and the business end of things if you're thinking about professional acting).
Attend shows and plays and study good actors. Read plays and scripts of all kinds keeping an eye out for characters you love and monologues you want to develop.
But mainly - get involved with actual acting whenever you can. Good luck
I am an aspiring actor as well. Study accents, accents are very marketable. Also learn a bit about marketing because you simply must sell yourself to the producers. Attitude is everything, sometimes they will over look a deficit in skill to work with someone with an awesome attitude.
Just Sit in a room with a camera and act out scenes and then look over them and see which scenes were strong and needed work then the ones that need work you can work on!
Trying to teach yourself is a waste of time. You need to be attending a really good acting school, and also performing with a good youth or community theatre.
