What is the best way to tell the owner of an establishment that he has a crummy manager? I want to be professional when I go about this.?

The manager seems like a total con. And the owners are not Keen to it but all of the other workers are. I do not want to appear like I am just trying to throw him under the bus or get him fired. Someone please help. Need some good advice.

Its very hard. In part because understand the main workers will still do their best to make the business work as well as it is. Meaning they professionalism, kindness, and care the other employees put in most of the time compensate for the manager's lazy, disrespectful, or unprofessional behavior. Other employees will more likely try to handle a problem, before having to go to the manager. And when the manager does get involved, and makes things worse, the other employees work harder to fix it. So the owner does not know how really bad the manager maybe. If the owner does not full see the bad managing just you saying so will not convince him. And since the others jobs maybe effected by the manager, they will not say anything bad about the manager. So you have to have proof. Some how show him his behavior. If you can not don't try. Understand, that you are not only showing the own he has a bad manager, but showing the owner he made a mistake in hiring him. Sure most bad people will act good at times. So some will get hired, before they are found out. But letting an owner know, is risky.

Who are you in relation to the business?

If you are a customer, it would be best to complain about the service/product that you got. The owner will take steps to correct things, and that might involve disciplining the manager. If you say something like "I'm a customer and I don't like that person" you are likely to be politely ignored.

If you are a subordinate of the manager, be specific about how you as an employee are displeased.

If you are a supplier, similar to customer.

No owner is going to react well to your trying to tell them to discipline their manager. "I think that's a crummy manager." (So what, you aren't paying them. They aren't your manager)
They will react to your having a legitimate business problem. "I don't like what happened." is your business. The owner will try to improve your experience and that might involve disciplining the manager.
