just got my cast off but my arm hurts. Can i make my arm go back to normal sooner?

I have had a cast for my elbow for the last 4 weeks. I just got it off this morning. The doctor toke an x-ray and said everything was fine. He said my arm still hurts because its been stuck in one position for 4 weeks. Like how when your legs hurt when you try to stand up after sitting down for a couple hours. But as you can imagine this is on a much higher scale. My doctor said that all the pain is normal and everyday i should be able to move my arm more and more. This is just because i haven't used these muscles or joints for the last 4 weeks. Is there a way i can like speed up the process? Like putting lotion on it or warm water to help get the muscles to like wake up or something? I don't know if there is a way its probably not a legitiment medical reason. But something that will just like help make the pain of the muscle go away so I can get my arm back to normal faster. But no this is not my fracture that is hurting me i already asked, trust me my elbow is healed. Any kind of remedy for it would be helpful :) thank you

I'm surprised that the doctor didn't recommend physical therapy. Soaking in a hot bath should help .
