What is a good, or the best virus and malware protection to put on my new lap top? Why? And how to back the OS up for future problems?

I've used Avast for years, been great, never had a virus problem.
My family uses AVG, it's been fine for them, I quit using it because of the number of false positives.

Windows comes with it's built in backup software, that works fine if that's all you need.

Windows 10 has AV built in. Backup to a separate hard drive with plenty of capacity. W10 also has this facility. Or use Acronis which is very easy to use and very efficient. See links.

Kasperksy Total Protection. I've tried all the other virus protection software and all they do is slow down your laptop. Kaspersky is the only anti-virus software that does not slow down your computer.
