Can you be a college professor for more than one college at at the same time?

As you may find when you actually reach this academic rank, it's more a matter of which universities choose to hire you, not which ones you choose. Maybe if you were a legend within your field you might have a bit more influence, but that's about it. Normally, you're lucky to get a professorship anywhere.

Well, I'll put it to you this way: if you are chosen to be a professor at one university you're lucky. You don't get to "choose" the university you teach at anymore than you get to choose the company you want to work for. Nevertheless, it is possible to teach at more than one university. I've been a professor for the last 17 years and teach full time at one university and part time at another....Show more
