If Trump is going to insist on flying down to Florida every weekend, is there any legal way to get him to use smaller aircraft?

I mean, 747s aren't inexpensive to operate. How about using one of the Air Forces' 757s instead? They'd still be "Air Force One" so long as he's on them. Even better, how about enacting a law that can withstand a presidential veto that make it illegal for the POTUS to us those planes more than say 4 times a year for purely personal reasons (no limit on the number of times to be used on national business)?

legal way NO.
The job requires he have the ability to be in command 24/7.
Part of the reason for the plane is its ability to act as a "portable office" while in transit from A to B.
Sadly the world we live in requires Secret Service to spend a lot on money doing what they do. The people voted for him and now get the bill for his time in office and the rest of his life.
Could he reduce his security expenses YES.
He has little control of the the details of the security costs of what needs to be done.

He and his Family get protection. Just the way it is. It will be an expensive period and paid for by YOU.
Like all decisions a voter made for one candidate or the other they weighed the benefits some forgot to include the associated costs.

You do know that the Clintons also have Secret Service protection as well. The Former President and spouse has it until he dies.

They limit the security budget by not going anywhere.

By law, former presidents are entitled to a pension, staff and office expenses
,>>>>>>> medical care or health insurance<<<<<<<<,
and Secret Service protection.
The NEW plan does not affect him. His coverage is FREE to him.

I bet you would be twice as wasteful as him if you became president.
Btw, Obama said he'd never go on vacation

No. But do we have to give secret service protection to his billionaire adult kids when they are on personal trump business trips abroad?

How about if we dock his salary for the cost of using Airforce 1.
