I own both and I use my PS4 more often. The controller is also lighter and more ergonomic.

PS4 is funner to in my opinion. It's also cheaper to go online but a more expensive console to purchase. Xbox One is a bit funner than if you had an Xbox 360. The controller has vibrating features but it can be annoying having to buy batteries for the controller again and again for the Xbox One. In the turn out if you do want to get a new console, I would buy a PS4 at the very least. You shouldn't have to buy an PS4 slim or pro because it cost more. At the end of the night gameplay will be the same. Enjoyment will be the same. Wait until black Friday or after Christmas deals. It will be worth it in the end.

if you want to play halo or forza, buy a xbox one.
if you want to play uncharted or Gran Turismo, buy a PS4.
if your friends play on one console most, get that console.
