1. Random apks are unlikely to work because Fires run FireOS, a custom Amazon OS based on Android but without the Google Play store and without the Google Services many real Android apps depend on.
2. If you still want to try to install a random apk, then you need to go into settings (probably Security settings) and temporarily allow apps/apks from unknown sources. Then try again to open/install the apk. if you manage to install it, it may work, may half-work, may not work.
Note - the Apps that are meant for Fire are from the Amazon app store (and not even all of the apps there).
