It is (as usual with the glitch) system wide. Some of the more obscure topics have nothing new for 3 weeks.

I've taken to hanging out on Quora. Which has its own set of problems - Limited amount of questions you can answer, same lame questions as on Y!A, an opaque policy changes, and random server shutdown.
But you do run across former astronauts, and other NASA folk. and some fairly decent thinkers too.

There have been plenty, but right at the moment we are in the middle of a bug period in which the questions disappear after a couple of hours.
These bug periods happen a couple of times a year, and last about ten days. The current bug period started on September 10, and should end on September 20.
I suspect that it's a kick-in-the-pants by a programmer who was fired in December 2014 which is when these shenanigans started. The Yahoo Answers staff member who has the Facebook group has been notified.

I thought there were but maybe the questions were taken down, moved to a different category, or simply lost to void thanks to Yahoo's terrible algorithms and constant glitches.
But then again there may have just not been any questions. Like Carl Sagan said, "We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology."
