Why drag religion into something I did that had nothing to do wiith being a Christian?
1 Two bicycles collided near my house.
2 A woman ran up to our door and ask me to call an ambulance for her husband which I did.
3 Went out to see if they needed anything else, which they didn't.
4 She ask if I would store their bikes so they could go in the ambulance. I said fine.
The bikes were worth aound $10k.
5 When they came to get them they thanked us many times.
6 I don't go to church, but my wife has one. They sent a $50 donation to her church.
7 A card they also sent to the church was read in front of the congeration prasing us.
It said that was being a good Christian.
8 Doing something nice for people has nothing to do with religion. My parents never went to church and they would have done the same thing. I feel the church should haven't accepted the donation/
@ Purus Not an atheist, but I beleive atheist get a lot of put downs from religious people' Been retired from 2009. 46 years in the industry when they closed the doors. My wife was a stay at home mom most those years. When people can take church donations off their taxes they are getting something in return from those donations.A tax break. I don't call that a true donation. A true donation is given anonymous without nothing in return. I do take your answer as a compliment. Thanks.
@ Elise When I Iost my job (Plant shut down ) my wife who went to church where her grandmother / mother / our kids /their kids 5 generation's total, the good Christians in that church offered us 0 help, but they would glady pay the bills for people who didn't want to work, did drugs / drank or smoked. We didn't do any of that. But thanks for your honest answer.
