Why is my poop red?

I'm so scared right now because I'm highly certain that it's blood. The problem is that with all the COVID-19 hysteria, I can't even enter the hospital normally for a medical check-up. I've already gotten tested for COVID-19 and tested negative. Yes, I know you can still get infected, so I'm scared that maybe it could be COVID-19 and I got exposed somewhere. I've been drinking loperamide because I know it helps with diarrhea, since this "symptom" of COVID-19 is gastrointestinal. I'm considering doing telemedicine. What would be the best thing I should do?

Frank red blood is usually from low down in the digestive tract, so could even be from hemorrhoids.  When it's from a bleeding gastric ulcer it's usually tarry black and very sticky. Call your doctors office and explain the problem.  If you are anemic (feel tired and weak, have rapid pulse at rest, and pinched skin doesn't flush back pink immediately on release) then it's more urgent. Add steamed spinach to your diet for now because it helps put iron back into your body.

See your normal Doctor. Hospitals are for emergencies.

Go see a doctor. There’s no way for us to examine you.
