Can you not get a raise if you’re on probation at work?

I’m on probation because I made a mistake at work but before it happened I was already getting trained for a new position. When I had the meeting with my manager about the probation she had also mentioned about the pay raise that I would get in the next paystub. 2 weeks later when I got paid I didn’t see my raise so I asked her and she said I can’t get my raise until I’m done with my probation (which is a 60 day probation). Does this sound right? It for sure doesn’t to me. Please help me out 😩

More info: I’ve been working for this company for 3 years and I’ve already had 4 promotions. They told me 2 weeks ago that I was getting promoted and it would come with a pay raise. I didn’t screw up during my probation.

And there’s nothing in the conditions of employment about probations. I only got a warning for the problem but they have me on probation for it.

The same day that they had me sign the probationary form they told me that I would get a raise and that I would see it in my next paycheck.

They can make any rule they want about when you get a raise or not.  They have zero obligation to give you a raise, ever.

It sounds perfectly right.  They have every right to retract a raise or put it on hold to see if you are going to work out.

probation means you are still in training. No one is giving you a raise when they might fire you if you don't meet their standards.

Theyre not going to waste time giving you a promition and a raise when you might not be with the company much longer. You might not like it, but that doesnt mean it isnt right

If you read your conditions of employment I think you'll find you are on probation for a fixed term at a fixed rate.  Simple as that.
