Are personal days required by law for full time employees?

At my current job, and also at my previous job, we were never given personal days. We just get 3 weeks paid vacation. So if you want a day off, you need to use a vacation day. How can some companies not give personal days? Aren’t they required by law for full time employees?

It's not up to the employer as another answer says. It's up to you when you signed the contract. You agreed to what that says.

No of course not. Most places vacation days aren't required either.

I instituted "Sick and Personal Leave" at the company I was directing.  These are not required by law in most states and most states do not combine the two - you have to be sick to take sick leave.  And there is a limit as to the amount of sick leave you can take, even if unpaid.  It is not your fault if you are sick but also it is not the company's fault.  Dependability is the most important employee trait.

No personal days are not a requirement.  For anyone. Full or part time. Personal days are a "perk"--a benefit--not a law.
