Morbid obesity is defined as a BMI score of 40 or more. You typically qualify for bariatric surgery if you have a BMI of 35-39, with specific significant health problems like Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea or high blood pressure. A BMI of 40 or higher also is a qualifying factor.

Not you.   It isn't going to last because it doesn't address the problem.   It's like getting rid of the sand at a beach; it'll just come back unless you address the ocean (your regular diet).

Included is the solution you need so desperately and not because you are fat.  That's just a symptom.

You generally have to have a BMI of 40 or higher to qualify.  You'd need to see what your insurance company and doctor say.  But a BMI of 30 isn't a big deal.

It's unlikely you would be, as you are not morbidly obese at 190 lbs. Much better to lose the excess weight naturally than go through risky surgery. Surgery is typically a last resort.

I'm your height and many years ago topped out at over 230 lbs. I lost it through cutting calories and exercising a LOT. A healthy eating plan is key. After all, even after weight loss surgery, if you don't make a lifestyle change and stick to it, the weight will just return.

After seeing this type of surgery in GI practice, I was more interested in WHY folks were overweight.  Some were soothing themselves, for something that was bothering them.
If you take that option of self soothing away, by making the stomach capacity away, many turned to drugs, alcohol, gambling etc., etc. in order to make themselves feel better.
Something to think about, and consider,
