Have you ever learned something from school in the past that you’ve come to realize was incorrect?

    Favorite Answer:

Yes! In general, I realized a lot of the health advice (physical and mental) I learnt was wrong now that I am pursuing a science degree. A few examples:

    1. "Natural sugars are healthier for you." Not true. They are actually the same as unnatural sugars and your body cannot decipher the difference, it is only an ethical choice whether you prefer "natural" or unnatural.

    2. Same with vitamins. "Naturally sourced" vitamins of any kind are the exact same as ones synthesized in the lab in supplement form.

    3. Another example I remember learning is that 100% fruit juice is healthy for you. In fact, one cup of 100% fruit juice contains nearly the daily limit of sugar for average adult women (about 25g), and all the main healthy components of fruit are transferred into the juice.

    4. Also, you don't need dairy at all yet they taught me that you needed a few servings of it a day. You can get all the calcium and vitamins and minerals found in dairy in fruits and vegetables. In fact, the vitamin D in milk is added and doesn't even occur naturally in milk. Plus the hormones in dairy can conflict with human hormones so it is not actually the best idea to have dairy every day. I still do because I like the taste and my body doesn't react to it, but a lot of other people are dairy sensitive and shouldn't have it.

    5. You should "do what makes you happy." Studies actually show that at the end of your life, old people always claim that their happiness comes from quality relationships. Those who prioritized career, success, and their personal goals and aspirations over relationships reported feeling unhappy in the end, unless they achieved quality relationships alongside. So, it is actually equally important to do what makes others happy, at least those who matter to you, who you want to maintain relationship with. Living your life for yourself and neglecting the needs of those who matter to you will leave you empty. Sometimes you have to give up what makes you happy to keep harmony in your relationships and achieve life satisfaction in the end, like giving up your dream job in order to maintain a healthier "home life" for your family. On your deathbed, its your family you'll be thankful for, not your job or individual success. Humans were made for relationship, its what makes us happy. North American society preaches way too many individualistic messages that are straight-up recipes for depression.

    What is this puzzle called?

It's not a crossword or wordsearch. You get a grid that looks like a crossword but all the words are provided and you need to fit them all in correctly.

If anyone can please tell me if they know what “and i never even caught that knife in the basement” means? Its bugging me! Context is below?

So to give u the context a girl i know showed me a conversation she had with a guy we both worked with who has sadly since passed away, but he liked her and one night had sent her a poetic confession on missing out on his opportunity to pursue her, regretting that he hadn't tried harder, that if i can remember correctly he said ‘like a goddess in may i let u slip away, and i never even caught that knife in the basement.’ I couldn't stop focusing on that line, tried googling it, no song lyrics was it apart of, no poets or famous historians that quoted it, no friends or family I've asked that could give an explanation to what it meant, just results on a term used in stocks thats right stocks like wallstreet to a term of a falling knife. No basement included, he was a very intellectually smart introverted person but I'm afraid i missed my chance ironically like he did but obviously more in the way to ask him what he meant by it. Id love to hear what u all think that come across this. Thank you for anyone who tries to answer this!! Its one that can really make u think.

Have you ever invented something that was already invented?

I invented earphone ear muffs and then I googled it found that I was already invented. By invented I mean that I had never seen the idea before I just thought okay I'm going to put some headphones in my ear muffs and then bam. Lol! 👍

How many homeless people could Bill Gates fed with his wealth?

    Favorite Answer:

If he bought everyone in America a $5 burger it would cost him about $2 billion. So he could feed everyone a burger a day for about two months before he spent it all.

Or he could hire a 2 million member personal army for a year at $50,000 and overthrow the corrupt state governments of poor states.

Or he could do like George Soros and give organizations money to push political agendas and stir up trouble and political upheaval.

    What should I do?

I’ve been married for 13 years and about 10 of those I’ve developed tight close friendships with several women. I’m a touchy type of guy with my close female friends and flirty and am also a bit of a people pleaser.

In the past I’ve had female friends whom have been very flirtatious and sexual with me, there was no sex though. I’ve always seen it as just having a good time, my wife trusts me and I trust her, I know when to cut things off.

Problem is, about 2 years ago, I started working at a new firm. I met a woman there who, well, she didn’t mince words, she liked me and let me know it, as well as being vocal about liking me to other co workers. It’s a laid back firm, plenty of other co workers have dated each other there and married. Problem is, she’s single and am married. At first I turned down her advances and didn’t respond to her compliments. But with time and not having a great marriage, I started to reciprocate and flirt, be touchy, and started hanging out with her at work.

Things escalated were we would be kissing and touching each other under our clothes and eventual actual sex. After every time we touched, I felt guilty coming home to my wife, but while it was happening I was just in the moment. I told myself each time that it’d be the last time, but it wouldn’t last because she was on me everyday and wouldn’t listen to no. I gave in time and time again.

I really didn’t like the job plus we were getting too close so I ended up leaving.
