when is the time to plant pumpkin seeds if you would like to have pumpkins by next halloween?

    On average, approximately 90 - 95 days beforehand. If you live too far north to avoid frost at that time, you can plant in peat-pots indoors then plant directly into the ground. Remember this is an average. Local conditions, and oddball seasonal variations could lengthen the time. Since pumpkins keep well, planting a little earlier is a better bet.

    I always thought that pumpkins were 110 days...what I would do is...plant a few around May 15th, then a few May 30th and a few June 15th...that way you will be sure to have some when you want them...and be sure to soak them in water overnight first...
