Spearchucker was removed because he was black and there were no black surgeons during the Korean War.
His nickname was spearchucker because he used to throw the javellin.

Spearchuker was removed because there were no native american surgeons serving in MASH units during the Korean War... His Nick was Spearchucker

He was supposedly called spearchucker because he was a javeline thrower, but there was also a double entendre. Spearchucker is also a derrogatory term used to refer to black people. The character was black. This was decided to be to offensive for a mainstream audience so he was cut from the show.
