    A CV is:

    Your Life History

    Your Job History

    Your Achievments

    Your Skills

    A resume is:

An accurate summary of your credentials

Education, achievements, job experience and goals

They're the same thing. Americans tend to call them resume's and Europeans tend to use the term CV (Curriculum Vitae).

and just for the record, New Zealand - and, I guess, Australia? - goes for the European version ... "C.V.")

maybe USA (and Canada??) are alone on this one !?
