This is a tough call. It depends on Shaun Alexander - if he is playing, as he was on the receiving end of a concussion last weekend - doing well, then the Seahawks will be tough to beat. BUT! The Panthers have one of the, if not THE, best defenses in the league. When the playoffs roll around, it always seems to be the team that brings their defensive "a" game that wins. I believe that the odds on Seattle winning would be 3 to 1.
I also believe that the Panthers will win this game - Steve Smith will NOT be denied, just like he ran roughshod all over the Bears' vaunted defense. And we know that Seattle has a decent D, but nowhere near the caliber of the Bears or the Panthers themselves. Score: Panthers - 28, Seahawks 24.

It will stay close for a while as long as Nick Goings runs the ball well. That will set up Delhomme's passing game, and Steve Smith would be a huge threat.
But as long as Shaun Alexander does not stumble, and that 'Hawks defense holds its own, look for Holmgrem to lead his team to Detroit in a close and exciting game.

They should crush the Panthers no hands down.
