I can postulate and pontificate about a vast array of subjects, not the least of which are comic books and various media, video games included!

  • Do you think Marvel will bring back Captain America?

Alas, Cappy died today at the hand of an assassin... Do you think Marvel will revive him just in time for his movie? Do you think it will be as good or as bad as when Superman died? Will Marvel fumble the ball with this one?

  • How can trust be regained once it's broken?

Lying and/or withholding information - how does one regain the trust that has been built over years and destroyed so quickly once the truth is free?

Mind you, it's not earthshattering, the truths, but it's the fact that it's been lied about or withheld that hurt the people I love.

  • Why is it, when someone injures their hand - not a cut, but smashed it, then they shake it vigorously?

I got a bone contusion the other day on my hand; right in the upper part of my palm. I was shaking it for several minutes after the injury occurred. I then thought it strange that people seem to shake their hand vigorously after a similar injury. It's not like we shake our legs if we bump THAT, or our heads!

    Why do we do that?

  • How is a tiebreaker determined in a fantasy sports playoff?

I was first in my basketball league, and I was ahead by like 15 games. When the playoffs began, I had the first round bye. Second round came, it ended in a 4-4-1 tie. And then they had me in the consolation game - as if I had lost it. But I checked the records, and I won the first matchup in the season against my opponent, and tied the second, so you'd think by virtue of win/tie, I'd have the breaker. What gives, Yahoo?

  • What makes you proud to be a member of your nationality or religion?

Simply put - I've seen people put down Americans; I've seen it happen to Canadians, Iraqis, Muslims, Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses to name a few. What irks me is that people fail to see beyond the obvious in a person and judge them to their well-ingrained societal stereotypical beliefs. I just saw a resolved question that asked what bad things do you hear about Americans - the answers puzzled me simply because they couldn't be any further off, but that is the world we live in.... my question to you, regardless of where you're from, what you do, or what you practice/preach, what do you like best about YOUR beliefs and YOUR society?

  • A moral dilemma - If you are a surgeon, and you are treating a patient who tells you, no blood transfusions?

Let us say, for the sake of the argument, that you are a doctor and/or surgeon who is treating a patient - and there is a necessary surgery required for him or her - in order to prolong his/her life - BUT! Due to religious considerations that patient tells YOU - do NOT do any blood - no transfusions, nothing of that sort. It is a difficult surgery, sometimes REQUIRING blood transfusions or donations to keep the patient alive. You are confident that you can successfully complete the operation, but the operation usually takes one or two bags of blood.

As you continue through the operation, one of her arteries break - and blood flows. You pinch it off - but her blood level is dangerously low.

What do you do? What is your decision? Do you go against the patient's wishes, or decry the Hippocratic Oath? Discuss, and tell me what you'd do.

  • Do hearing aids count as fashion accessories?

My question pertains to the fact that you can get hearing aids in a multitude of colors; not to mention the fact that you can get the molds (the part of the aid that fits into the outer ear and into the ear canal) done in swirls of colors, or just about any outrageous color you can think of! I have a pair that has blue and white swirls; yet people don't notice them all that much. I used to hide them when I was younger, wanting to fit in with the "normal" crowd, but now I don't care if people notice. I'm hearing impaired, but I've overcome it by a wide margin. So do they count as accessories, like earrings and necklaces and such?

  • Why is it a normal housecat will sometimes zip around like a bat out of hell?

For no apparent reason! It's not just one cat I've seen do this, it's several - spanning 3 decades, I've seen numerous cats just lie at rest, then all of a sudden ZOOM! to another side of the house, then back again, then someplace else, and I'm left thinking - WHAT THE HELL?? Where's the fire, cat?? And it's not like they had some sort of objective either or any planned destination that they had to get to really fast!

  • If Mars has been found to have had water?

Along with the possibility of Mars having signs of life, along with a heated asthenosphere much like ours at one point (Look at the SIZE of Olympus Mons! That's a VOLCANO three TIMES the size of Mt. Everest! Holy smokes, talk about a BIG eruption....) in the far past, do you think there could have been a civilization on Mars before humankind even thought to look to the stars?

  • So what do you think? Did Reality Kill the Video Star?

Is MTv and VH1 even worth it anymore? Every time I click on these channels, there's a show on, usually reality-based, and NOT music videos! Hell, there's probably, oh, 1 or 2 hours a day when they play music videos. I remember when MTv first came out, and MAN, I enjoyed watching videos alllllll day long.....

  • What's the best way to get to be the featured user?

LOL - I was reading the Yahoo! Answer Team's blog, and they had a post about how to get the best answers... and so I copycatted the question. =P

Seriously, though - what do you think would garner you the honor of being the featured user? Great questions? A LOT of best answers picked? Being thorough in your answers? No misspellings? Correct grammar? A splash of knowledge in all categories or specialized in one? All the above?
