Is a sarcastic answer that begins "Are you RETARTED?" an example of irony?

Update:

Ok, just to clarify, my point was that someone who thinks retarded is spelled "retarted" should not be asking such a question. Rather than irony, perhaps it is "pot-calling-the-kettle-black-edness".

    No, Irony is when the intended meaning is the exact opposite of the literal meaning. Since intention comes into play, it is not for questions. You are using hyperbole here.
