A Christian is not born one, they become one by accepting Jesus Christ as their savior and Lord.
Before they're Christian, I'd imagine they could be American, French, Irish, you name it.

I was born a Christian, then I believed in Judaism for 10 years, although I never officially converted to Judaism because I did not live within walking distance of a synagogue. I was going to move and convert, but I finally faced some doubts I'd been having for a long time. Then I started searching Hinduism, and now I am a Hindu.
So, I personally am one of the few who do change their birth religion. I think you are asking a very good question though, because most people do practice the religion of their parents.

If I were not born a Christian, Jew, Muslim. . . I was not baptised at birth, didn't attend church until I was in my mid-30's and was baptised last year and became a Catholic, do you think I am qualified to answer this question?
My answer if YES!

i know you will say because i am now Muslim i will say "ofcourse Muslim"
but honestly if i was with no religon and then i searched within all the religons and studied them really well i will choose Islam
Islam is a great religon from a great creator ... and nothing can be more rewardable for it than heaven as a prize

I think that all religions are paths to God's kingdom. Since we all agree that there is only one god, whatever way we choose to get to him is the right way, provided it's made with love, and acceptance of the others.

I did try to be a Christian, but I failed. I failed to become a Christian, because once you believe in Jesus Christ, you are REQUIRED to tell others that you know about Him or else you will be punished through eternity. I tried to tell one of my brothers about Jesus Christ and tried to get him to convert into religion before he commited suicide. He mocked me. Now, God is probably thinking that it is MY FAULT that my brother's soul is in hell. So, I wouldn't convert later in life.

I believe that the only religion on earth that accepts you as one of their own unconditionally is hinduism.
