It sounds like you will be working with the same children over a few days.

    I'd teach

    1. Adam and Eve and the fall of mankind. All are now born into sin.

    2. All people are sinners.

    3. God is Holy and will not tolerate sin into Heaven.

    4. Jesus is God's son. He was sent here to provide a way into heaven. This road is narrow and few take it.

    5. They can become a Christian and have salvation by trusting in Christ. This is a life long committment...not a magical prayer.

Tell the kids to write their worries on a piece of paper. Then pick some kids to share their answers. Wrap their worries around a rock and place them in a backpack. Keep filling up the backpack and ask the kids if the backpack seems like it is too heavy to carry. Then tell them to close their eyes and pray for their worries to go away. While their eyes are closed empty the backpack and refill it with a bible and a paper with the name of Jesus on it. Tell them that they can pray for Jesus to take their burdens away.Show the kids how much lighter the backpack is when it is filled with the bible instead of the worries of life. Plant the word of God in their hearts. This in reference to the story of Job.

Well, you ought to pray about it and ask God besides asking us too. And also pray that God touches the heart of those kids with whatever topic you teah them. And well, the topics which I feel are good are

Story of David and Goliath, And how God is with young people even when they have to face mighty things.

Daniel in the Lions den and moral that God always saves those who put their faith in him.

Need to be taught the story about God's way of creation before the theory of evolution and science gets stuck in their mind. So the story of creation would be a good one as well.

Jesus Loves the little children and they are also significant in God's eyes.

Well, I guess thats enough. Everything should be linked with Jesus, that is important. And besidesI liked the activity which servant for you told you. Try to find more activities like that, all children like to do something active rather than simply listening and learning!

If you are 'going' to be a counselor, you should already know WHAT to teach them about the BIBLE! However, due to the time we are living in, try teaching the rights and wrongs...no stealing, no killing...for they are at an age to recognize RIGHT from WRONG! The TEN will be a good start.

Kids love stories - they just love them. And the Old Testament has great stories, such as Noah and the Flood, Moses and the Exodus. Also the parables of Jesus make great stories. Then when the story is done, make the connection to the story's purpose, using plain English.

There are excellent Christian storybooks out there - ones that detail the parable of the lost sheep, the prodigal son, as well as the story of Jesus walking on water, and Peter coming out to meet him. Or you could draw up poster boards and tell it with pictures yourself...

I helped with Bible school over the summer, but that was with 3-5 year olds... i would suggest something a little more serious with that kind of age group. Not like Job (it seems to sad) or Revelations, or Noah and Joseph and the multicolored coat...

How bout you talk about the disciples and their devotion to God?

How about John 3:16 being the entire Bible summed up in one scripture verse?

How about a lesson on Faith?.

    John 14.12

"Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.

    Acts 10.38

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

    Matt. 17.20

He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and NOTHING will be impossible for you."

    Mark 16. 17-18

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tounges; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they {accidently} drink any poison, it will not hurt them; THEY WILL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK, AND THEY WILL RECOVER!

Young children haven't been around long enough, like us adults, to be indoctrinated by the spirit of unbelief that is all around us.

See if you can build up their faith and have them pray for one another and their loved ones.
