I can't get up in the morning. What can I do?
No matter what, I have never been able to fully wake up to an alarm and stay awake. I'm also never conscious enough to be able to use the snooze button. I set 3 or 4 alarms each morning and can't get out of bed. I'm always late and just not a morning person. I've even tried sleep tests and apnea machines. Nothing seems to work.

It could also be a problem with you circadia rythms (biorythms that tell your body when to sleep, control energy flow, alertness) I have also had the problem that you do and it doesn't seem to matter when I went to bed. I eventually purchased a blue light that has helped me tremendously. I am able to sleep and wake up like a normal person. you may want to learn more and visit their site. the have products and a LOT of information. At first they seem to have nothing but information on depression, but you will find an area about your natural rythms, why they are screwy and how to fix them.

step 1: the night before set one really loud alarm clock, but instead of setting it to the time you wake up, set it to 30 minutes earlier.
step 2: When you hear the alarm clock, hit the snooze button, and go back to bed for another half an hour, that way you trick your mind into believing that you slept for 30 more minutes. Also: if your still tired after those thirty minutes, put on a REALLY bright lamp for 5 minutes.
step 3: take a really hot shower in the morning for 10 minutes and then for 2 minutes turn it to freezing cold. It wakes you up Instantly.
If this doesn't work, try getting Clean & Clear face wash called "Morning Burst" it has caffeine in it to wake your face up. Also, try getting a Shamrock Farms Milk called Cafe Mocha, its a milk/coffee which will fortify you with energy without the damages of staining your teeth.
If this also doesn't work, ask your doctor what types of medicine there is available for getting to sleep earlier.
I really hope this helps!
Good Luck

I've had the same problem and I'm working on it...the keys so far that seem to be working somewhat are going to bed early and getting up right when your alarm goes off so you don't have time to argue with yourself about whether or not you should get up...establishing a routine time to go to bed and wake up every day can help out a lot. These are things I've researched and tried to implement, and I have only had partial success thus far, but I have made much improvement...one more thing, turn your lights on bright ASAP because they activate something in your system that tell you that it is time to wake up...God gave us this natural alarm so that we can wake up to the sun! Good luck, you're not in this battle alone!

dramaqueen's advice is good. Also I suggest my girl's trick. We have several clocks all around the house but those which we happen to look at in the morning are set 15 or 20 minutes back so that it works perfectly as a kind of time delay. Just think how much delay time you need 4 yourself and give it a try anyway.

I get up and do a little work-out. Just a few seconds of running, push-ups, whatever. I think it has to do with endorphins, but what it really does is keep me from going back to sleep. ANd my alarm clock is across the room.

LOL man that reminds me!!!
The main reason why this situation occurs it because you have plan today, nothing exciting going on!!!
Um other than that, you should get a cp player with alarm and with your fave tune playing in the morning will get you out of bed! Not always!!
Try Hey Ya! Outkast...
Goodluck!

I have a hard time getting up in the morning also. What I started doing is going to bed earlier. I also wake up and turn on my coffee pot (I get it ready the night before), and sit and drink my coffee. It gives you a reason to wake up.

Have you tried putting your alarms where you would have to get out of bed to shut them off? Get a really obnoxious one and put it across the room.

set up your alarm clock as far away as possible from your bed. that way you have to get up to turn it off
