Low-impact weight loss exercises for post-surgery?
I'm getting my shoulder worked on and am looking to start an exercise program once I can move around again.
I hate swimming, and I walk already and hope to take up Tai Chi when I can move well enough- what else can I try?

I would recommend something like water aerobics; its like impact, using the water as resistance. Pilate's, although more difficult, is also low impact for knees. In terms of a diet plan I would try 5 meals a day. Make sure you eat in the morning. Something like an egg white omelet with asparagus and mushrooms. Two hours later, a hand full of almonds and an apple. Three hours later a turkey sandwich on whole grain wheat bread with a small spinach salad, balsamic vinegar, olive oil pepper and basil make a great dressing. Then a Greek yogurt with any kind of berries you like for your next snack. Lastly, a light dinner: seared tilapia or chicken with veggies and a half cup brown rice. Drink plenty of water and get a lot of sleep.
