Why do people in this category always answer using quotes from the Bible instead of their own oppinion?

Seems like everybody is trying to convince the others instead of giving personal opinions about the matter.

Am I right?

Because they have no opinion and try to make themselves seem smart by going to the bible and adding a quote.

Because it's their personal opinion that The Bible is the best source for substianting their opinions....there are quotes in the Bible that allign with their own thoughts, opinions and beliefs. Just like a philospher will most likely quote Aristotle or Plato, whichever their belief system alligns with.

Case in point - "Dixie" (above) says that all answers to life come from the Bible....

Personal opinion matters nothing when talking spirituality. People use Bible quotes when they base their opinions on a Biblical foundation for their lives. In case you don't know it, the answer to any and all questions about life are found in the Bible.

If you don't believe in the bible or God , the verses mean nothing. But to the christian or muslim using the quotes it affirms their opinion. Since this is the spiritual thread our opinions means very little. But for a spiritual person needing a spiritual answer, only God can say it best.

When you are in a courtroom, why doesn't a lawyer use HIS personal opinion? Obviously, a lawyer has no mind of his own if all he can do is quote established law--as if that is some kind of an argument.

When you stand before God, do you think that personal opinion is going to matter a whit?

OK Bill, truce. Sorry about the pushy remark.

Source(s): Psalm 119:9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

When you ask a ??? pertaining to the Bible, YOUR opinion is no good unless you can back it up with Scriptures.

Old Pusheeeeeeeee, agrees with Schnab, you would find it very hard or even impossible to win a court case with your own personal opinion, you would have to present proof to win the case.

BIBLE ????, PROVE your answer with Scriptures

The Bible is my personal opinion. That is free will. Just as you seem to have your opinion. God gave you your free will. I won't quote it, but you should read it for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

Okay. Here is my opinion - The Bible is the DEFINITIVE SOURCE for all truth, especially regarding spiritual things.

Those of us who believe the Bible to be the true and inspired Word of God, use the Bible quotes because they are authoritative, and our opinions are merely subjective.

In other words, If I am of the opinion that "all good dogs go to heaven when they die" - Then that's just my opinion, and it's not worth very much to me or anyone else.

However, if I'm reading the Bible and see that it says, "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses."

Then I know I need to forgive those who sin against me whether (in my opinion) they deserve it or not.

If their opinions and morals are formed from their upbringing with the Bible, then logically they are going to quote the Bible in there answers.
