What is a religion to a religious person?

I have often heard religious people claim that evolution or the Big Bang are religious, or beliefs of atheism, which they claim to be a religion.

I thought a religion mainly meant something that dealt with supernatural causes. This is not true to you? Just because I have enthusiasm for something, like monster truck racing, does that make it a religion?

How is this so? If you are religious, what is a religion to you?

Update:

rjtg, so what about Islam? Is that not a religion? Hinduism? Judaism? Those are not religions?

Religion is a set of morals and beliefs. Yes, it does explain supernatural/paranormal phenomena as well... but, it is also an outline for us. It answers questions such as "why am I here?" "where will I go when I die?" "why do bad things happen to people?" "why are there bad people?" etc. It really just gives us footing.

    P.S.: I'm Pagan. :)

You can be religious about anything. Your example was monster trucks, you could literally worship a monster truck if you want. You can make up your own religion. Religion is a way to label religious people by their sect. For example, baptists, catholics, mormons, buddists, there are many different ones. They all worship and believe different things. My point is that religion is a label. Hope that helped.
